Fairtrade Gold

Pleased to join East Dunbartonshire Fair Trade Group for an interesting & enjoyable meeting in Kirky yesterday, along with local SNP group leader Gordan Lowe. The group was launching a “Fairtrade Gold” exhibition” - showing how Fair Trade is moving into areas such as gold mining with certification schemes to ensure fair pay and conditions for small-scale miners, their families & communities. You can see the exhibition at St Mary’s until Friday.

Angela Oakley, also pictured, has been doing lots of work with a view to establishing a Fair Trade Steering Group in North Lanarkshire. Hopefully more news on that soon.
