![]() Stuart McDonald MP and Jamie Hepburn MSP wish to thank local residents and everyone involved in this year’s Employment Fayre for contributing to a successful event. The Cumbernauld and Kilsyth politicians hope that the event was beneficial to everyone who attended and that local people are able to secure new employment opportunities as a result. On Friday 3 February around 40 employers, colleges and universities were on hand to discuss employment opportunities in the local area, and to offer advice on employability and skills development. The Employment Fayre was organised in partnership with New College Lanarkshire and Skills Development Scotland delivered a series of free workshops for visitors. The popular event is the second of its kind organised by Jamie Hepburn and Stuart McDonald and, given the success of this year’s event, the local politicians have announced they are already putting plans in place for another Employment Fayre in 2018. Visitors who attended the event are invited to fill out a quick survey to provide feedback on the Employment Fayre: https://tinyurl.com/jtwbmqc Commenting Mr McDonald said: “It was amazing to see such a great turnout at the event and given the success of the event I am already looking forward to arranging another Employment Fayre alongside Jamie in 2018. “Around 40 major local employers and educational institutions were able to showcase the fantastic opportunities that are available in the local area. I hope the event was beneficial for those who attended and I would like to thank everyone involved. “I would encourage everyone who attended to fill out our short survey to make sure that next year’s Employment Fayre is even more successful” Commenting Mr Hepburn said: “A huge thank you to everyone who helped to make the Employment Fayre such a great success. Stuart and I were delighted to welcome so many visitors to Cumbernauld New Town Hall to explore new employment opportunities with our exhibitors. “I hope that the event was useful for both visitors and exhibitors and that many local people are able to secure new opportunities as a result. “The Employment Fayre was the second organised by Stuart and I in Cumbernauld and I believe that this event was even bigger and better than the first. “It’s clear there is demand in the local area for this type of event and we intend to arrange a further Employment Fayre in 2018.”
