![]() An excellent turnout at Cumbernauld New Town Hall last night for NHS Lanarkshire’s consultation on proposals for a new build hospital at Gartcosh - thanks to everyone for coming along to share their views and to NHS staff for facilitating. Reflecting what others have said to me, there was lots of enthusiasm for a modern new hospital and widespread agreement that constraints at the current Monklands site meant a new location was required. A large majority supported the Gartcosh choice. However the message came across loud and clear that people wanted to see significant improvements to public transport as part of the planning. That is a message the NHS board are already responding to, and one that my colleagues and I will seek to push whenever possible.
